Dame Dorothy was known as an excellent needlewoman and stitched the textiles for the Paradise Room, one of the bedrooms at Bramall. This portrait was first exhibited as part of the Off the Wall at Bramall Hall programme, that celebrated the opening of Bramall Hall after its recent restoration.
